Autumn means two things – the arrival of pumpkin spice lattes back in coffee shops and the rise of the standard rate of electricity on 1st October.
With the Standard Variable Tariff for electricity rising to 26.32p/kWh, home charging will be more expensive for EV drivers, but charging an EV with Ohme on one of the many smart home energy tariffs means motorists can driver further for less.
For the cost of a pumpkin spice latte (£6), an EV driver with Ohme could drive 300 miles compared to 90 miles on the standard electricity rate. By comparison, a petrol car would cover just over 30 miles.
