MG Named ‘Best Value Manufacturer’ in 2027 National Awards

MG Motor UK has won Parkers Best Value Manufacturer Award 2027, building on a period of record sales momentum as UK motorists opt for the brand’s strong value offering.

The award comes as MG’s latest research highlights the growing importance of value for new car buyers. Drawing on online marketplace data and insights from driver opinion surveys, it shows new-car prices have risen 58% in ten years, while household disposable income has grown just 2%. The findings underline the need for cars that offer accessible pricing with the space, equipment and everyday practicality customers expect – a focus at the heart of MG’s approach.

These results are reflected in growing customer demand. MG registered a record 7,837 vehicles in October, making it the UK’s fourth best-selling brand for the month. Registrations rose 85% compared with October 2025, marking MG’s seventh consecutive month of record sales, while year-to-date registrations are up 25% at 86,767 – meaning MG has already surpassed its previous annual sales record with two months of the year still to go.

MG’s approach to value extends beyond low price points to encompass generous equipment, practical cabin and luggage space, user-friendly technology, and a versatile choice of petrol, Hybrid+, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains – giving drivers high specification without compromise.

The Parkers Awards have relaunched for 2027 with a focus on the UK car buyer and what really matters to them. Among the new categories is Best Value Manufacturer, helping consumers home in on the brand that offers the most for their money. The category looks at much more than simple purchase price, also factoring in what buyers get for their investment.

David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK, said: “Customers want to feel they have spent their money well, every time they get behind the wheel – and this is MG’s commitment, with generous space, equipment and technology – at great value prices – reflected across our entire model range.

“This recognition from Parkers is especially rewarding alongside the growing number of drivers choosing MG. We have continued to improve our most popular models and invest in the support customers receive throughout ownership. Giving people more for their money remains at the heart of those decisions.”

Tom Webster, Head of Content at Parkers, said: “MG offers much more than a low purchase price. The value it provides comes in many forms, with elements such as the amount of equipment, space and practicality all playing a role. Then there are the other costs that make up the reality of running a car in 2027 – company car tax, maintenance, fuel bills and more.

“To take the MG S9 as an example, it offers more space for seven than its main rivals, has a premium feel and a simple and well-equipped line up. Value and simplicity in one package.”

MG has also invested in the ownership experience, with overnight parts deliveries and an expanded Cecil Kimber College training academy at Longbridge helping its retailer network support customers after purchase.
