Huntingdon MP Visits Allison Homes’ Cranbrook Grange Development in Somersham

Member of Parliament for Huntingdon, Ben Obese-Jecty, has visited Allison Homes Central’s Cranbrook Grange development in Somersham to see progress on the growing site and meet the team behind its construction.

Situated on The Bank and surrounded by open countryside, Cranbrook Grange offers a selection of two, three, and four-bedroom homes within easy reach of St Ives, Huntingdon, and Cambridge. The development combines rural charm with modern convenience, appealing to those seeking access to both local community life and nearby urban centres.

During the visit, Mr Obese-Jecty, joined by his Senior Parliamentary Assistant Ross Martin, toured completed and developing areas of the site with Assistant Site Manager Jimmy Tomlinson, Sales Manager Will Wallace, and Sales Executive Melania Rus. The visit concluded with a tour of the two new show homes — The Laurel, a three-bedroom property, and The Walnut, a four-bedroom home.

Ben Obese-Jecty MP said: “It was good to visit Cranbrook Grange and see the progress being made on site. It was also encouraging to see that a number of the new homes are already occupied and forming part of the local community. I’m grateful to the team at Allison Homes for the warm welcome and for showing me around the site.”

Adam Knight, Managing Director at Allison Homes Central, added: “It was a pleasure to have Mr Obese-Jecty visit Cranbrook Grange and explore our new homes first-hand. This is a development we are very excited about at Allison Homes, so we were delighted to see him share our passion.

“Our team has made fantastic progress since construction work began last year, and the first residents have now moved in. We look forward to continuing our work on site, delivering a total of 131 high-quality new homes alongside a host of community and environmental benefits.”

Cranbrook Grange is part of Allison Homes’ wider regional growth strategy, reflecting the company’s commitment to building high-quality, energy-efficient homes that support thriving communities. The development benefits from strong transport links, including access to the A141 and A14, with Huntingdon railway station offering direct services to Peterborough and London. The nearby Cambridge Guided Busway also connects St Ives to Cambridge and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, providing an easy link to employment and leisure opportunities.

Allison Homes, which operates regional offices in Peterborough, Norwich, Tiverton, and Castle Donington, is expanding across the East Midlands, East of England, and South West as part of its five-year growth plan. The company has achieved a five-star rating from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) in 2025, with 94.9% of customers saying they would recommend it to others.
